Salisbury Plain provides the cornerstone for the collaboration between these Wiltshire artists concerned with the concept of scarring: environmental, physical and psychological.
During WW1 the Plain became the training ground for British and Commonwealth troops.
Cicatrix is a member of the First World War Centenary Partnership, led by Imperial War Museums, and forms a network of regional, national and international cultural and educational organizations.
For the project’s four year journey, reflecting the WW1 centenary – 2014-18, Cicatrix is supported by Wiltshire Council, Arts Council England, and more recently, the Artists’ International Development Fund (British Council & Arts Council England).
