Sunday makers market. Hand made fine fare, from Frome based makers and creators. Doing Christmas locally.

Makers market
15 November event postponed to Sunday 6 December, 10am – 4pm

For independent makers it’s a challenging time. Many have fallen through the net of financial support and usual sales opportunities have reduced considerably.

“What is hopeful, however, is the opportunity to really embrace doing things locally. I’ve been so grateful for the support of returning customers who have come back for commissions or repairs time and time again. This kind of support is pretty remarkable and I think says a lot about our local community.

Building on this sense of doing things locally we are really excited to host our first Sunday Makers Market, 15 November, 10am – 4pm. We hope to give local Frome makers an opportunity to showcase their work and build networks of support with other makers, whilst also offering the local people of Frome opportunity to buy directly from artists and makers and shop locally.”

Frome window wanderland

Halloween Window Wanderland
31 Oct‑1 Nov 2020, 5.30 – 8.30pm

This year we are working with our friends at Frome Window Wanderland to organise a Halloween arts trail. This Covid-safe alternative to trick or treating will give everyone a good excuse to get spooky and decorate their window, house or front garden. You can still dress up and go for a wander around your local area after dark and see the windows that your neighbours have created!

Take part in this event.

28 February ‑ 2 March, 5.30pm – 9pm
Black Swan Café and other venues around Frome

Window Wanderland is back for its third year in Frome. To “transform the streets into a magical outdoor gallery again for all to enjoy!”

Black Swan Arts has taken part every year. We love this event as it promotes community and celebration of creativity. Both these things we know are valued by our local citizens.

Register to take part by February 9 to feature in the printed map.

About Window Wanderland

Set designer, Lucy Reeves Khan started Window Wanderland in 2015, inspired by her vivid imagination, her deep-seated community spirit and her personal experiences of isolation due to years of chronic illness.

Lucy imagined her local streets alive with other people viewing dramatic, beautiful or just silly scenes in the windows around her neighbourhood. She wondered if, in the dark of winter, these displays would cheer up others too. She put on her first event in her own community. It was a huge success.

This event now takes place all over the country and beyond.
