Studio Shops

Our studio shops offer visitors the opportunity to watch craftspeople at work and buy directly from them. Our resident makers are happy to discuss your individual requirements to create that special one-off piece. Please telephone the individual makers to confirm opening times or arrange an appointment.

Our Studio Shops are highly sought after spaces. We have a waiting list for interested artists and when a studio becomes vacant, we put out a call using this waiting list and through our website and newsletter. If you want to receive our regular newsletter or to be on our waiting list, add your details to our secure mailing list.

Studio Shop 3: Puro Ceramics by Fabio Bernardi

Growing up in Tuscany instilled the joy in the process of making. “I have always found great joy in making and building things by hand – it came easily and naturally for me – perhaps because I was surrounded by this as a child.” However, feeling limited in that area the growing love of creativity invoked a hunger to explore, Fabio soon moved to Florence and after to London seeking a wider perspective.

Studio Shop 4: Jane Sheppard

My work celebrates the heritage skill of coiling with clay and is influenced by ancient artefacts with cross-cultural references.  Sustainability has always been at the core of my practice, with low temperature firings and low output.  Most of my work is large scale (45-50cms).  Recent work is moving towards monumental scale with figurative pieces reaching 2 metres. One of these is currently featured in a curated art trail of Monmouthshire churches (Vessel Art Trail, www.artandchristianity.org).
