Studio Shop 1: Sally Swannell

I originally trained as a natural history illustrator and then spent 20 years in design and greetings card publishing, initially being freelance and then running my own business. For quite some time I felt that I wanted to put something back, and our flora and fauna has always held a special place in my heart. I closed my business in 2020 so that I could find a way forward that felt more in alignment with where I wanted to be.

I returned to further education in 2021 to study wildlife conservation at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester, it was quite a challenge but I loved every minute. I am now developing more of an ecological thread in my artwork, bringing together what I have learned over the last 3 years to depict and hopefully engage more awareness of our beautiful habitats and ecosystems.
