The event takes place during Frome Festival, so come down and soak up the festival atmosphere and pick up amazing pieces by local makers. With more than 40 stalls of various different mediums and styles, there will be plenty to see to meet every taste.
We’re no longer taking applications for stalls, but if you’ve already applied and need more information, contact office@blackswanarts.org.uk
Proof Pudding Club
Available 6pm onwards
Sunday 12 June 12 8-9:15pm
£8 per ticket
Proof Pudding Club is Hunting Raven’s book club with a twist. Each month we have a selection of soon-to-be published titles for you to read and review. It is a unique chance to read advance copies of books (aka ‘proofs’) due to be released in the coming months. So you could be reading this summer’s bestseller or the winner of the next Booker Prize before it hits the shelves!
How it works
Book your place, come and pick up a proof from Winstone’s Hunting Raven Books on Cheap Street, and read as much or as little as you like. Then join us at The River House at Black Swan Arts where we’ll talk about what we’ve read and eat cake together! Pudding and books? What’s not to like!
Cake (and your proof) is provided in the £8 ticket price, and you can purchase coffees, teas and soft and alcoholic drinks on the night. Gluten free and vegan options are available.
Proof Pudding Club takes place on the second Sunday of the month at 8pm. Booking is essential.
Frome Community Education
Seeking art tutors for Spring 2022
Frome Community Education (Frome Commed) is actively seeking art tutors to teach art and craft courses for the Spring Term.
A Community Interest Company, Frome Commed was founded in 2011 with the dual aim of providing classes for adults who like to learn for pleasure, and benefitting tutors who want the freedom to organise their own classes – minus the tiresome paperwork.
Frome Commed currently runs one art class which is very oversubscribed. They have had lots of requests for classes in beginners’ drawing and/or painting – but would be interested in hearing from anyone with an idea for a course that students would enjoy.
Classes are held in the Cheese and Grain, at Avanti Park school, and, most recently, in the Gallery at Black Swan Arts. If you would be interested in finding out more about working with Frome Community Education, please email piamcgee1@gmail.com to arrange an informal chat.
