Rhiannon Davies – fine art & photography
Young Open 2019 Judge
Rhiannon is a young, Bristol-based creative who from an early age dreamt of becoming an artist. Over the last five years, Rhiannon has been recovering well from ME. After diagnosis, she felt like she had lost everything. Yet, her passion for art provided the hope she needed.
In 2016, Rhiannon entered and became a winner of the Black Swan Arts Young Open. From this point onwards, her artistic dreams started to come true. Within the year, she was exhibited at the BSA twice (1000 Postcards and Evolver Prize 2016) and the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) 164 Annual Open Exhibition, Bristol. She was recognised as the youngest ever to have an artwork exhibited in an RWA Annual Open Exhibition and interviewed for their blog. She was also shortlisted for the National Open Art (NOA) 2016 in the adult category.
In 2017, the same artwork was exhibited and sold as part of the NOA exhibition at ARTROOMS 2017, London – an international contemporary art fair. Later in the year, Rhiannon was invited to submit work for the RWA’s Secret Postcard Auction, which sold on the evening of the sale. Her work was also exhibited and sold at the MOMA Machynlleth Tabernacle Art Competition 2017, North Wales and shortlisted again for the NOA. Recently, she was awarded joint third place at the ARTiculation Prize 2018 South West Regional Final, Holburne Museum, Bath. Rhiannon is currently studying for A-Levels in Fine Art and Photography.
