Calling all artists and makers!

Like many arts organisations, Black Swan Arts has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are a registered charity and currently receive no regular funding. We have very limited funds and rely heavily on volunteers and supporters.

To ensure that we have the resources to continue supporting the arts in Somerset, as we have for the past 30 years, we are asking our loyal and talented artists and friends to donate artwork to our fundraising show ‘Small & Affordable’.

We welcome work from any medium, 2D or 3D. Pieces should be no larger than 30 x 30 x 30 cm and have a recommended selling price of  £300 or less. The work is intended to be affordable in recognition of the fact that many of us are struggling financially.

Please consider donating some artwork to this important cause. Without your help, Black Swan Arts may not survive. The deadline for submissions is Sunday 8 November. We have adapted our usual competition software to help us manage your donated work, so please excuse the mention of ‘competition’ throughout the system. We have asked for some information about you as an artist and each artwork, this will help us effectively promote and acknowledge your kind donation.

If you are not able to donate any artwork but would like to donate money, you can do that through PayPal.

Our official deadline has passed but lots of our lovely supporters are getting in touch to say that they would still like to donate some work. If this is you, then please send us an email to competition-support@blackswanarts.org.uk with your:

• first name and surname
• mobile number
• website address & social media handle (so we can promote you)
• usual medium(s)
• brief artists statement

And for each image

• title
• medium
• size e.g. 30 x 30cm
• recommended price
• image file(s)

Our drop off dates are:

• 3 & 4 December, 2 – 6pm
• 5 December, 10am – 3pm
• or you can post your work to us at any time

After those dates have passed, please refer to our shop opening times.
