Amy Yates

Young Open 2020 Judge

Local artist, Amy Yates has produced an extensive collection of Artworks in a distinctive, recognisable style.

Her unique multi-faceted paintings of familiar townscapes are represented in vivid colour and subtle texture.  Her paintings and prints now have a global following.

Amy lives in Frome, Somerset with her two children and Labradoodle, and has a studio in the Welshmill Hub, a community co-working space. She has volunteered for local organisations such as the Frome Children’s Festival and for several years has designed the Christmas cards for the Frome based cancer support charity WHY (We Hear You).

Previously Amy worked at the Royal United Hospital, Bath, where she was employed as a Medical Illustrator. The work included photography for patients’ records as well as graphic design for medical publications.

Regularly exhibiting with the Frome Art Society and Open Studios, Amy is also a member of the Made in Bradford on Avon shop, a community run enterprise where she sells some of her work.

Amy has also run workshops in Somerset, and hopes to be more involved in her local community, now that her children are becoming more independent.
